Dublin

Fine museums and art galleries combined with friendly pubs offering traditional Irish entertainment ensure Dublin is a fascinating and truly vivacious destination, providing the perfect backdrop for your choir’s concert tour. Only a short distance from Mainland UK, your concerts can take place over a weekend in a city full of culture and natural charm. Behind the excitement of downtown Dublin you will find a city immersed in history and tradition, with well-known sights such as Trinity College, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle and Christchurch Cathedral, there really is something to suit all choristers.

Dublin offers many beautiful venues for your choir with enthusiastic concert going audiences. Enjoy a typical warm Irish welcome at the smaller Parish churches and halls or relish the opportunity to perform at more prestigious venues to locals and tourists alike.

St Patrick’s Cathedral & Christchurch Cathedral

Choirs are able to sing either a lunchtime recital or as part of a service in both of these stunning and prestigious venues. Both venues are popular with visiting choirs and so requests need to be made well in advance.

St Audeon’s Church

Situated in the heart of the walled medieval city, St Audeon’s Church is the only remaining medieval parish church in Dublin. Concerts take place on a regular basis and it really is an amazing experience to perform at such an ancient site.

Parish Churches

For a more personal experience and a lovely welcome from locals, you may like to choose to have a concert or recital in a Parish Church either within Dublin itself or in one of the lovely seaside or country towns outside of Dublin.

Guinness Storehouse

If your choir wishes to give a more informal performance to be used as a rehearsal for your main concerts, a performance is possible in the Atrium of the Guinness Storehouse. This can be nicely combined with a visit to the Guinness museum and a free pint of the local produce!

Trinity College and the Book of Kells

If a trip with historic significance appeals then a visit to Trinity College and the Book of Kells will prove an enlightening and educating experience for all involved.

Glendalough

Escape the city to discover some of Ireland’s fantastic scenery and fascinating history. This early Christian monastic site is one of Ireland’s most popular tourist visits, set in a beautiful valley and exhibiting impressive remains.

Dublin Castle

A tour of Dublin Castle is a must. There are guided tours of the State Apartments, the Undercroft and the Chapel Royal. The State Apartments are the venue for presidential inaugurations in Ireland. The Undercroft is where you can see Viking remains and the Old City walls.

The Guinness Storehouse

Even if you don’t perform at the Guinness Storehouse, don’t miss a visit for pure pleasure!
