Band Tours to the Czech Republic

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a city for all seasons; in summer, the streets come to life with entertainers and stalls which celebrate the Czech culture whereas, in winter months, visitors wrap up warm to enjoy the natural beauty of the landscapes and appreciate the hearty cuisine.

Often referred to as the ‘City of a Hundred Spires’, it boasts grand palaces and ornate baroque churches linked by winding medieval streets, all dominated by the magnificent castle, Pražský hrad. The city lends itself to many exciting and original adventures including a buffet dinner cruise on the River Vltava, an authentic Czech folklore evening, a tour of the castle or a visit to the impressive Krizik Fountain Show.

For a different view of the Czech Republic, why not base your Band Tour in Western Bohemia, a region made famous for its spectacular spa towns such as Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne? Visit the breweries to try the local Czech beer and enjoy relaxed outdoor performances away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Prague is only a few hours away so there is still every reason to make this your destination of choice for a perfect day trip.

Prague’s Old Town Square

A performance on one of Europe’s most famous city squares offers an exhilarating opportunity for visiting groups to entertain the visitors as they sit back and soak up the atmosphere over a coffee or a cool beer at one of the pavement cafés.

Marianske Lazne

In Western Bohemia, the spa town of Marianske Lazne is home to the breathtakingly ornate colonnade which makes a stunning performance venue. Here, following the musical display from the town’s ‘singing’ fountain, the gathered tourists become your audience.

Fratiskovy Lazne Theatre

Frantiskovy Lazne is yet another wonderful spa town in Western Bohemia, and here groups can perform for tourists in the spacious and impressive theatre which has been beautifully restored.

Staré Mesto

Prague’s Old Town, which spreads along the Vltava’s right bank, is a great introduction to the city. Visit the Old Town Square and see the Astronomical Clock and Tyn Church, complete with its world-famous towers.

Prague Castle

No Czech tour is complete without a visit through Matthias Gate into Prague Castle, the city’s most famous landmark. Be there at noon to watch the changing of the guard before strolling past the quaint, coloured houses on Goldmakers’ Lane. Inside the castle walls you’ll find St. Vitus’s Cathedral, the largest church in Prague which for over 600 years has dominated the city’s skyline.

Vltava River Cruise

For something a little different, climb aboard a boat for a buffet supper as you cruise along the River Vltava – a truly relaxing way to see the sights after a day of performing. The two-hour cruise takes you through a lock on the Vltava and continues down towards the iconic Charles Bridge, with its 30 Baroque statues, artisans and souvenir vendors, to the Castle District, which is beautifully illuminated at night.

Krizik Fountain Show

A music and light extravaganza held at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. This 40-minute show with hundreds of water jets, lights and a variety of music takes place several times each evening in the summer months.

Karlovy Vary

Make sure you don’t miss the Mill and Spring Colonnades or the hot springs themselves. Take the cable railway to the Diana Tower for views of the town and a restaurant lunch before shopping for famous Bohemian crystal in the city’s pedestrian area.

Kutná Hora

An hour’s journey east of Prague will take you to Kutná Hora, a former silver mining town which in medieval times was one of the wealthiest in the kingdom. Here, visitors can enter the famous Ossuary (church of bones), the medieval silver mine or the exceptionally beautiful Gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara.

Hotel Duo

The Hotel Duo in Prague is located just north-east of the city centre and has recently been refurbished. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation with private facilities, as well as an indoor swimming pool and bowling alley (local charges apply). A new metro line offers a direct link to the city centre. We use this hotel regularly and are happy to recommend it to all our groups.
