Band Tours to the Rhineland

Beautiful scenery, friendly people and exceptional concert venues combine in this striking region. Steeped in history, the Rhineland claims over 200 castles and palaces, an abundance of charming, medieval towns and endless vineyards which welcome groups to sample the locally produced wines – it’s no wonder that the Rhineland is one of the most highly recommended destinations for Band Tours!

Rhine steamer cruises and cable car rides allow you to see the region’s breathtaking beauty in style, while a visit to Marksburg Castle provides an insight into the region’s medieval past. Cities in the Rhineland include fascinating Cologne, which boasts excellent shopping, great museums and many riverside bars and cafés serving the local Kölsch beer. Just south of Cologne, Bonn provides visitors with a variety of historic locations including the ever-popular museum occupying the house in which Beethoven was born.

Your group will find that audiences are plentiful and enthusiastic in this region, which is renowned for its fantastic selection of venues.

Our favourite venue:
Bad Ems Kurhaus

Situated next to the River Lahn, this impressive Kurhaus was once used as a spa and is typical of those that now scatter the Rhineland. Now used to host a variety of events, the impressive marble hall is suitable for all styles of band and the newly constructed bandstand, situated within the delightful gardens makes this our favourite venue throughout the year.

Boppard Riverside Bandstand

Why not perform at one of the stunning riverside bandstands located throughout the Rhineland? At Boppard, also known as the Pearl of the Rhine, bands can perform under the shadow of 19th-century grand hotels before heading off up on the chairlift to see where the River Rhine twists and turns to create the beautiful four lakes view.

Bad Neuenahr Kurhaus

With its unique revolving stage, Bad Neuenahr is the perfect all weather venue. With the stage placed at the front of the concert hall, the entire unit is able to revolve to face either into the concert hall or out into the stunning gardens depending on the weather at the time! An incredibly stylish venue which offers a well-attended weekly concert series, this is a truly unique experience for all groups.

Florinskirche, Koblenz

One of our favourite venues in the region, the Florinskirche offers a warm welcome to all visiting performers. The Church is host to a series of concerts from Spring to Autumn and its fantastic acoustics are well suited to band performances. Regular audiences always flock to hear a visiting band.

Join the Wine Festivals!

Another popular option for bands is to perform at one of the many wine festivals which usually take place in September and October. Festivals offer a guaranteed audience in a convivial atmosphere; plus there’s plenty of samples of the local produce to enjoy post performance!

Christmas Markets

Why not travel in December for a taste of the area’s famous Christmas markets? Organisers are always keen for bands to add to the atmosphere with a few carols!

Rhine River Cruise

An ideal way to take in the sights of the region; marvel at the many castles perched high on the rocky crags, including Castle Rheinfels, and admire the famous Loreley Rock.

Siegfrieds Mechanical Music Museum, Rüdesheim

The old fairground and circus mechanical instruments in this fascinating museum were rescued by Siegfried and range from a room-sized funfair organ to a small music box the size of a sugar cube, on which perches a tiny bird which sings when operated. Decide who in your group should demonstrate their pianist skills by playing Beethoven on the grand piano…without even touching the keys!

Rüdesheim

An important wine town in the region and beautiful riverside resort. See the vast collection of old mechanical musical instruments in Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet.

Wine Tasting

You can’t visit this area without tasting some of the delicious local wine. We can arrange tastings for your group at one of the vineyards or in the surroundings of a local castle or cellar.

Boppard

A bustling Rhine town with shops and sights to keep everyone entertained! One of the town’s most popular attractions is the chairlift which offers panoramic views of the area. If you’re not so adventurous, you can take in the sights from the town’s mini-train.

Marksburg Castle

The historic Marksburg Castle overlooks the town of Braubach and the River Rhine. The Castle houses a fascinating museum explaining its history and the extensive preservation undertaken to keep this vast monument in such fine condition. Visiting groups can take a guided tour and see the torture chamber held within.
