Choir Tours to Paris

Over 2000 years old, and home to over 2 million Parisians, it’s no surprise that this multicultural city provides something for everyone; romance, culture, iconic sights, world famous cuisine, history, art and music are found in abundance and create the vibrant atmosphere our choirs enjoy.

Between performances in world famous venues, follow the tourist trail by ascending the Eiffel Tower, see the works of Monet and Rodin at the Musée d’Orsay, go bohemian in Montmartre or simply relax on a cruise along the River Seine. With some of the country’s most beautiful concert settings and warm, enthusiastic audiences, this fascinating city will live long in the memories of your choir members.

Paris is a great destination for a long weekend tour, although with so much to see and do in this stunning city you’ll most definitely want to stay longer!

With so many performance venues available in Paris there are options for every choir, regardless of group size or style of repertoire. Here are just some of our favourites:

Notre Dame Cathedral

In 2013, a series of festivals and events will celebrate the 850th anniversary of the laying of the first stone of this iconic landmark which, according to legend, took place in the presence of Pope Alexander III. Your group can celebrate too with a recital here and, as your choir’s voices echo around this world-famous cathedral, you’ll truly feel a part of Paris’s rich historical heritage. For a truly special experience, your choir can sing for the large congregation attending weekend Mass.

American Cathedral

Providing an intimate setting for groups of a mixed repertoire, the American Cathedral is well known by the local community for the many concerts it hosts each year. The stone architecture of the building and its high ceilings contribute to choirs reporting a ‘great acoustic’ and, thanks to its central location, we find that our groups are welcomed by a sizeable and appreciative audience. Good facilities and heating make the American Cathedral a great option all year round!

Chartres Cathedral

The eminence that this Cathedral has acquired makes it a popular performance venue for choirs from all over the world. The grand, gothic structure entices tourists and locals inside and we are extremely pleased to be able to offer choirs performing a sacred repertoire the chance to put on a concert here.

Disneyland® Paris

No one puts on a performance like Disney! Their light, sound and stage technicians are at the top of their game and, with the Disney Magic Music Days programme, choirs have the opportunity to perform with the support of Disney’s very own team of professionals. Participants in the programme gain a glimpse into Disney’s professional world of entertainment with this unique, once in a lifetime experience which can be followed by a day in the park.

Participation in the Disney Magic Music Days programme is subject to audition and Rayburn Tours will be happy to guide you through the audition process.

We work hard to ensure that we give your concerts as much publicity as possible by putting adverts in local ‘what’s on’ guides, on local community event websites, as well as sending posters and flyers to a number of libraries, churches and community centres in Paris. We are also more than happy to provide you with some flyers to take with you should you wish to do some extra publicity whilst you are there.

Iconic sights are endless in Paris and the best way to see them all is to start at the top of the city’s defining symbol, the Eiffel Tower, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views. Closer to the ground, take a stroll up the Champs Elysées, with its exquisite shops determined to distract those en route to the patriotic Arc de Triomphe.

For art lovers, a descent through the Louvre’s glass pyramid to stare into the eyes of Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is a must or, alternatively, why not take a trip to the Musée d’Orsay to see the more recent works of Monet, Renoir, Cézanne and Degas.

For an alternative view of Paris’s famous sites, why not take a boat cruise? Sailing along the River Seine, these boats provide the perfect opportunity for an impromptu concert, where sketching artists and promenading tourists on the river banks become your audience.

Continue through the city and make your way to Montmartre, the old artists’ quarter and home of the Sacré-Coeur Basilica. Now filled with souvenir vendors and caricature sketchers, come nightfall, you’re treated to yet another fantastic view of the Paris skyline.

All of our tours are bespoke, therefore the itinerary below is simply an example; the duration, concert venues, leisure excursions and accommodation centre used will be selected to match the requirements of your group. Please contact us to discuss your bespoke itinerary.
