Choir Tours to Segovia and Toledo

A beautiful and culturally thriving city, Segovia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a candidate for the European Capital of Culture in 2016. Against the backdrop of the Guadarrama Mountains, Segovia’s skyline is dominated by a 28-metre high Roman aqueduct, a magnificent late Gothic cathedral and the Alcázar, one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain. The city’s heritage also includes mouth-watering cuisine and delightful local wines.

As the region offers so much for touring parties, we highly recommend a two-centre tour staying in Segovia and Toledo - we would be happy to discuss how a two-centre tour could work for you and your choir.

Iglesia Santo Tome, Toledo

This church hosts the Festival Internacional de Organo which choirs and their organists are welcome to take part in. Audiences are huge for performances during the festival as it is one of the highlights of the city’s cultural calendar. One of our groups who performed here told us that there were queues around the corner waiting to get in and hear visiting choirs sing. It is no surprise to us that a church that hosts a festival such as this has an excellent organ for your use.

Segovia Cathedral

This was the last Gothic church to be built in Spain and today is referred to as one of the most emblematic churches in the country. Concerts are well attended as its location on Segovia’s main square makes it ideal for attracting passing audiences in addition to its loyal congregation.

Iglesia de San Juan de los Caballeros

This deconsecrated church now houses the Zuloaga Museum and welcomes choirs with a non-sacred programme. Concerts are organised here to support local charities and attract large, appreciative audiences. The venue’s acoustics are simply stunning!

Iglesia San Millan, Segovia

The priest offers visiting groups an extremely warm welcome to this large Romanesque church located in the centre of Segovia, between the old and new town. Its location means that it attracts great audiences and one of our choirs has even been greeted by the local press. Our choirs find it an excellent venue for an a cappella performance as voices spread throughout the whole building providing a captivating atmosphere.

Iglesia de los Jesuitas, Toledo

Concerts in Toledo’s second church are warmly received. We can arrange for groups to participate in mass here.

Basílica of San Vicente, Ávila

An hour from Segovia, the Basilica is keen to host concerts and also welcomes groups to participate in mass.

Catedral del Redentor, Madrid

Concerts are well received at this Anglican church in Madrid, where a light, non-sacred programme is welcome. Groups can also participate in services here.

We place adverts in local ‘what’s on’ guides, on local community event websites, as well as send posters and flyers to a number of churches in the area. It is not uncommon for local newspapers in these regions to feature articles about visiting choirs and their upcoming performances. Some of the larger venues may also have their own websites on which we can publicise your concert.

Toledo

Highly recommended for a day trip, or a second centre for your tour, the old city is located on a mountaintop surrounded on three sides by a bend in the Tagus River. It contains many historical sites, including the famous Alcázar, the cathedral and the Zocodover, a thriving central market place.

La Granja de San Ildefonso

This magnificent royal palace has something for everyone, from impressive glass-blowing demonstrations to beautiful gardens in which to explore and relax.

Ávila

Best known for its medieval city walls, a visit to the fortress-like Gothic cathedral is also a must.

Madrid

A visit to this area is not complete without seeing the Spanish capital with its array of impressive buildings such as the Royal Palace, Royal Theatre and National Library. The Prado Museum houses one of the world’s most regarded art collections and is highly recommended.
