Youth Music Tours to the Costa Brava and Barcelona

Each region of Spain has something new to offer; beaches dominate the eastern and southern coasts whilst, inland, cities demonstrate fine examples of architecture. Rich in culture and colour, passionate flamenco performers demonstrate their intriguing traditions to tapas nibbling tourists and locals alike.

The Catalonia region is by far the most popular with our groups, who base themselves in the small coastal resorts of the Costa Brava close to the ‘artistic’ city of Barcelona. Whether you wish to relax by the waterfront, or enjoy the slips and slides of the waterparks, the Costa Brava is ideal. Just a short journey takes you into Barcelona, where the incredible Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell and Las Ramblas are wonderful for all to experience. Performance venues here range from coastal promenades to renowned cathedrals and sacred basilicas; providing memorable opportunities for all types of group.

Montserrat Basilica

The rugged mountain of Montserrat is one of the most impressive of Spain’s natural sights and the journey to the monastery is an experience in itself, providing spectacular views across the Catalan countryside. Within the Basilica’s impressively ornate interior, choirs are invited to perform a short a cappella recital of sacred music before the famous Escolania Boys’ Choir sings. Hundreds of pilgrims and tourists visit the site every day providing an enviable audience for groups.

Passeig Mossen Verdaguer, Tossa de Mar

Located to the north of Barcelona, the old fishing village of Tossa de Mar is now a haven for holiday makers. Late evening concerts on the promenade see bustling tourist audiences gather in the shadows of the castle ruins; an extremely dramatic scene.

Barcelona Cathedral

Close to the Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas, since its completion in 1298, this Gothic masterpiece has played a prominent part in Barcelona’s history and performing in this striking Cathedral is a memorable experience for choirs. To mark the martyrdom of a 13 year old saint in Roman times, 13 white geese can be spotted in the cloisters to this day.

Performance Highlight
Plaça de les Meliès, Pineda de Mar

In the fun beach resort of Pineda de Mar, locals and tourists pull up a chair to listen to early evening aperitif concerts in the buzzing main square. The friendly locals will even present you with a memento of the town as a thank-you for your concert.

There truly is something for everyone in the Costa Brava, with sun-seeking beach lovers, city slickers and culture hunters all catered for.
Much can be found in Barcelona, the city renowned for its architecture and cosmopolitan atmosphere. A walk along the city’s most famous street Las Ramblas, with its shops, cafés and street entertainers, will open up a world of new sights and sounds which epitomise the city. Whether your next choice is a visit to the Sagrada Familia, a ride on the Montjuic cable car system with its breathtaking views or a stop at the grand capacity Nou Camp football stadium, your group is certain to be dazzled.

In the height of summer there’s no better way to cool down than speeding down the Kamikaze waterslides towards the outdoor pools at Waterworld. Situated in Lloret de Mar, this huge waterpark is sure to provide all the thrills your group desires.

For a true taste of Spanish culture, a visit to a converted farm in the hills near Santa Susanna is the perfect setting for La Siesta Flamenco Show. This evening of fantastic flamenco dancing will provide a fascinating insight into this tradition involving dancers, singers and guitarists. Make a night of it by enjoying a meal before the performance.
