Bring that ‘wow factor’ to your geography trip with a Field Study Tutor

Our geography trips are designed to work successfully as independently-led tours, but we highly recommend that you opt for one of our experienced Field Study Tutors (FSTs) for some on-hand support.

Field Study Tutors (FSTs) are our unique geography experts who know everything there is to know about geography. Not only can they offer a reassuring ‘arm around your shoulder’ from the moment of arrival, but they have a wealth of knowledge about each destination and the geographical expertise to really bring the landscape to life.

The Role of an FST

Tailor delivery

It’s simple really, they’re there to impart their specialist knowledge and geographical insight to inspire your students and take the pressure off you as the party leader. They’ve got all the know-how on your chosen destination and the visits you’ll embark on, so you can concentrate on working with smaller groups of students while they bring the surroundings to life for all.

The Benefits of an FST

The benefits are endless… They know the area and the sights like the backs of their hands, so you can feel confident that they will support you in delivering the geographical input in a way that will engage and excite your students. Even better, all of our FSTs have a background in geography teaching and touring! They are just as passionate as you about enthusing young minds about geography in the field, and with their expert knowledge they do just that.

Our FSTs will also introduce your group to the culture and customs of your destination, as well as help you with all things logistic to ensure your tour runs smoothly. Just leave it to us!

How an FST Enhances the Learning Experience

Tailor delivery

How don’t they? They work with you to find out exactly what you as a group want to achieve and tailor your itinerary to your curricular needs. All of our geography tours allow students to get up close and personal with the landscape, but an FST can help students see what lies beyond it. Students will be able to visualise and feel the experience first-hand, and we think there’s no better learning experience than that.

With us there’s no one size fits all. Our FSTs can tailor their delivery in terms of vocabulary and explanations to cater for students of all ages and levels. You can’t ask for much more than that.
