Berlin and Kraków Two Centre
A tour to both Berlin and Kraków will give students the opportunity to see how and why important political decisions were made, as well as seeing for themselves the devastating consequences these decisions had for ordinary people. In Berlin, your students will learn about how and why the ‘Final Solution’ was put into place, and have the opportunity in Kraków to see the outcome of this decision in a truly heart-rending and thought-provoking visit to Auschwitz.
For details of the study excursions available in Berlin and Kraków, please refer to our dedicated Berlin and Kraków destination pages.
iWitness Study Resources
Our iWitness Resources are provided, free of charge, to Berlin and Kraków tour groups.
Groups participating in this two-centre tour will be provided with both our Berlin and Holocaust iWitness resources, allowing you to choose the one most suitable for your group and particular learning objectives.
Our Berlin iWitness covers areas of Berlin's history from the Weimar Republic, through the Third Reich, the Holocaust up to the Cold War and Reunification.
Whilst Berlin iWitness touches on aspects of the Holocaust, groups travelling to Berlin and Kraków to study the events in depth, may choose to use only the Holocaust iWitness. These encourage students to see the person behind the statistic, to study how key events affected them, their family, and their community as they reflect on the devastating effects of political decisions.

The group flew to Berlin, arriving in time for their evening meal and a trip to the cinema to watch an English film.
After breakfast, the group took public transport to the start of their 3 hour guided walking tour of Berlin during which they saw the Brandenburg Gate, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Checkpoint Charlie and Hitler's Bunker among others. The rest of the day was spent at the Story of Berlin Museum, before stocking up on presents at the fabulous Christmas markets.
A visit to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum began the day and was followed by a guided visit of the House of the Wannsee Conference.
The morning was spent at the Gedenkstätte Hohenschönhausen and the afternoon at the Jewish Museum. Following their evening meal, they departed on their overnight coach for Kraków.
Arriving in Kraków early morning, the group headed straight to Auschwitz Concentration Camp for a guided tour, arriving back at the hotel for an evening at leisure to explore the town centre.
The group took their morning flight back home.
