Belgium and Northern France
The battlefield sites are concentrated around the small town of Ypres in Belgium and the Somme area of Northern France. Many visitors use the word 'humbling' to describe their first visit to the Western Front. They are struck by the enormity of Britain's sacrifice in 'the war to end all wars' which is evident in the profusion of battlefield cemeteries. Subject these 'silent cities' to closer inspection and you will fully appreciate that they are not full of graves but of people. By examining individual suffering and loss, pupils gain a better empathy of war and its consequences.

Poland
Poland is a country of great beauty with a variety of landscapes and history symbolised through its many castles, churches, monasteries and monuments. Since Rayburn Tours established Poland as a destination for music groups in 1993, it has developed to become one of our most popular educational tours destinations.
There is a heart-warming proverb all Poles take very seriously. It translates roughly into 'a guest in the house is God in the house', therefore drawing on their long tradition of Slavic Hospitality, to welcome people from home and abroad with warmth and affection.
