FAQs about this tour

Find the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

  • Can we have language lessons in Normandy?

We can organise language lessons in the province’s capital, Rouen, which is a cultural gem. However, being in Rouen might mean your tour will be more focused around linguistic education instead of a classic cross-curricular trip that blends language with World War 1 landmarks and museums.

Because of the placing of Rouen from the coast – where most of the WW1 sights are – bringing together lessons in Normandy’s capital with visits to historic World War places on the beach will mean a good portion of coach travel within your tour.

  • Would you recommend a Language trip to Normandy for younger students? If so why?

Absolutely yes! Not only is this base not too far away from home, it’s within easy reach when travelling by coach, has the added benefits of offering safe surroundings, plenty of beaches and pretty much something for everyone.  It’s perfect for groups travelling with younger students!

  • I'm thinking of opening up our Language trip to Normandy as a cross curricular trip to increase numbers. What would you recommend?

Normandy offers a great base and opportunity to combine an itinerary that focusses on both Language and History. It’s a great combination and the learning outcomes for both sets of students visiting are vast. Speak to one of our consultants and they will happily run you through how a cross curricular itinerary to Normandy could work for your school.

  • What do I need to do to ensure safe travel for my group?

Information is available from your Local Authority on what is expected from party leaders on a trip. In addition, we are happy to assist you in ensuring that you have all of the necessary information to successfully assess risks and ensure a safe trip for you and your group. Further advice and information can be found on the OEAP National Guidance website.
