Belgium
Why Flanders?
A perfect close-to-home tour and good value all year round, it’s no surprise that Belgium remains one of our most popular destinations. Chocolate factories, canal cruises, diamond museums and the local markets all offer an authentic insight into this often overlooked region. Alongside the great shopping opportunities in Bruges and Ghent, a visit to the battlefields of the First World War is a truly moving experience for any touring group. With an excellent variety of activities available each day for your students including the fantastic Bobbejaanland, bowling alleys and the Walibi World theme park, Belgium offers your group an excellent tour and excellent value for money
Where to Perform
St Pauluskerk, Ghent
Situated on the outskirts of Ghent, this is one of our favourite venues thanks to the beautifully decorated baroque interior, the friendly priest and welcoming, enthusiastic audiences.
Wapenplein, Ostend
An enjoyable day trip to the lovely seaside resort of Ostend can be complemented with an afternoon performance. The bandstand in the centre of the main square is particularly charming and enjoys fantastic audiences due to the busy nature of this historic coastal town.
Menin Gate, Ypres
Taking part in the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate is an emotional and memorable experience for any band or choir. Visiting groups are invited to perform a small selection of pieces and the National Anthem at an extended ceremony under the Menin Gate. Many of our groups have commented that this was the highlight of their tour.
What to Do
Ghent & Bruges
Both of these beautiful towns are UNESCO world heritage sites and it’s not difficult to see why. Each offers beautiful architecture, canal cruises and charming squares as well as visits to the medieval port of The Graslei, the spectacular diamond museums or to see chocolate being hand made. Interesting and varied days out for all.
Bobbejaanland
If you have a desire to combine a concert with a fun day trip, then a day in Bobbejaanland theme park should be scheduled into your tour. Enjoy rides such as Typhoon and Dreamcatcher, then perform in Kinderland.
Ostend
This lively seaside town is perfect for a day’s excursion. Take a walk along the promenade or on the 5 and a half mile stretch of sandy beaches, and visit the aquarium or the ancient ships now resting in port. We highly recommend a trip on the mini train around Ostend as a good chance to see the sights and enjoy the humorous and informative on-board commentary.
