Costa Brava & Barcelona
Why the Costa Brava & Barcelona?
From many seaside towns you can discover the stunning coastline of the Costa Brava. With exciting attractions and expansive beaches, these small coastal towns are ideal for reaching the local waterparks or simply relaxing by the waterfront. From the coast it’s a short day trip to visit the sights of Barcelona, including the amazing Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell and Las Ramblas. For a more “artistic” experience, a visit to the Dalí Museum is certainly an eye opener!
The combination of a warm climate, the quaint coastal resort ambience and many great concert opportunities make the Costa Brava a highly enjoyable concert tour destination.
Where to Perform
Coastal Resorts
Squares and specially built stages host band or choir concerts in many of the coastal resorts. The locals of Pineda de Mar enjoy early evening “aperitif” concerts on Plaça de les Mèlies, or your group could perform a late evening concert in the shadow of the castle ruins in the tourist town of Tossa de Mar. Performances for the guests of the smart hotels of Lloret de Mar are possible for any group with an entertaining repertoire.
Montserrat Basilica
Choirs with a sacred repertoire can enjoy a very special experience performing a ten minute a cappella recital before the famous Escolania Boys’ Choir sings. Hundreds of tourists and pilgrims visit this site every day so our groups attract a good crowd.
Cathedrals and churches
The cathedrals of the two regional cities, Barcelona and Girona, both welcome choirs with a sacred repertoire for performances – they will also allow groups to use the organs. For more informal performances, choirs can sing in the parish churches of the Costa Brava resorts, perhaps as part of a service.
What to Do
La Sagrada Familia
Gaudí’s extraordinary unfinished temple. Whilst still under construction, its imposing towers are probably the most famous symbol of Barcelona.
Las Ramblas
This is Barcelona’s most famous street, lined with shops, cafés and many street entertainers. A stroll down the central walkway to Plaça Catalunya is a great way to experience the true diversity of this thriving city.
Waterworld
Enjoy a day on the waterslides and in the pools at this outdoor water park in Lloret de Mar.
Montjuic Cable Car
Take the cable cars from Barcelona up to Montjuic for impressive views over the city, not neglecting to stop at the observation deck at Mirdor del Alcalde which has great views of the Harbour.
Nou Camp Stadium
Your first view inside Nou Camp stadium is likely to take your breath away. With fully seated capacity for 98,700 people, it is the largest all-seater stadium in Europe and number three in the world. Whether a football fan or not, a visit here is an memorable experience for all!
