Derbyshire Dales &
National Forest

Why the Derbyshire Dales & National Forest?

With sweeping views and attractive stone built villages, the Derbyshire Dales present the visitor with some of the most attractive landscapes in Britain. The continually developing National Forest provides ever more facilities across parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. Together with Nottinghamshire, the counties contain a wide range of stately homes and country parks, from the splendour of Chatsworth House to the time capsule which is Calke Abbey. Excursions to Crich Tramway Village, the nationally renowned Denby Pottery factory, and the adventure of nearby Alton Towers offer interest and action for all.

There are opportunities to play and sing both indoors and outdoors at the National Memorial Arboretum, a venue of increasing national importance. The bandstands in the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton and at Nottingham Castle provide delightful settings for bands, and the many fine churches across the counties give opportunities for concerts for both bands and choirs.
