Estonia
With a great musical tradition and a hearty welcome, Estonia has rapidly become one of our most popular destinations.
Discover the ancient Hanseatic capital, Tallinn, dominated by the steeple of the medieval Town Hall. Explore the Toompea Castle district and marvel at the Song Festival Grounds.
Outside of the city centre, the Rocca Al Mare open-air museum is a collection of traditional Estonian buildings, including windmills and farmhouses, which give a fascinating insight into the country's past. The university town of Tartü is a popular day trip and the attractive coastal town of Pärnu is just a 2 hour journey away by coach.
Your group could also take the short ferry ride to the Finnish capital of Helsinki, a modern but beautiful city offering an interesting contrast to the medieval streets of Tallinn.
Your Performances
Estonia provides some wonderful performance opportunities for young musicians.
Indoor venues in Tallinn include Tallinn Town Hall and the prestigious English School.
In the south of Estonia groups really enjoy playing in Tartu University Graduation Room, which has stunning acoustics. An ideal second centre is the spa town of Pärnu, where theatres, spa halls and churches provide excellent performance opportunities, especially in the summer months.
Choirs, whether offering a sacred or secular repertoire, have plenty of venues to choose from. In Tallinn, it is possible to sing in the Niguliste Museum, a former church, or the Kaarli Kirik and Town Hall, both of which have a regular concert series.
