Normandy

Why Normandy?

Normandy is teeming with fascinating history and famous sites and it isn’t too far from home. With its 350 miles of coastline and richly varied regions, Normandy gives you a wonderful choice of landscapes, scenery and culture.

Visit the World Heritage Site of Mont Saint Michel which is today one of the most famous sights in Normandy. Built on a rock pinnacle, and joined to the mainland only at low tide, the Abbey is an awe-inspiring sight.

The events of 1944 in Normandy can be appreciated by visits to some of the infamous landmarks of World War II, such as the D-Day landing beaches, Longue Gun Battery or Mulberry Harbour.

Bayeux Cathedral and St Patrice Church - Bayeux

In Bayeux it is possible to perform in the famous Bayeux Cathedral. If your group prefers a slightly smaller church with a passionate and loyal congregation, we highly recommend St Patrice.

Arromanches Les Bains

During the summer months it is possible to perform in the town square that overlooks the ‘Gold’ D-day beach. Groups can also perform as part of a two-week music festival in June.

St Germain, Argentan

A great welcome and friendly audience make concerts at this impressive church very memorable. One of our favourite venues in this region and ideal for groups with a classical or sacred repertoire.

The Bayeux tapestry

See the world famous 230ft long tapestry depicting the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England in 1066. Surprisingly humorous commentary is guaranteed to keep your group interested.

Bayeux

See and touch some of the military equipment used in operation overlord in 1944 at the Bayeux Museum, or visit the British Cemetery which is an informative and emotional excursion.

D-Day Beaches

A tour to the area would not be complete without a moving visit to the D-Day landing beaches. The 360? cinema in Arromanches les Bains shows authentic footage that throws visitors into the heart of the terrifying action.
