The Netherlands
Why The Netherlands?
An ideal ‘first destination’ for those considering a music tour, the Netherlands has much to offer young adults. Fluent English and the friendly nature of the locals, combined with a faultless transport system and affordable visits make a perfect close-to-home destination for any music tour.
Noordwijk is a popular family seaside resort on the Dutch coast, only a short drive from Amsterdam and The Hague. The variety of excursions, including visits to the windmills, clog makers, theme parks and Amsterdam’s bustling canals, makes it an ideal base for youth groups.
Located in the south of Holland, Valkenburg is bordered by Germany and Belgium and within driving distance of Luxembourg. Music groups can take advantage of visiting and performing in four countries from one base – Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg – a truly international experience!
Where to Perform
Noordwijk
Market Square, Delft
Combine a concert on Delft’s charming Market Square with a visit to the famous porcelain factory.
English Church, Amsterdam
This charming church in Amsterdam welcomes choirs to sing. With a loyal congregation and an intimate acoustic, this is a lovely venue for smaller choirs or chamber ensembles.
Broek in Waterland
The lovely red-brick church in this village warmly welcomes groups, from choirs to concert bands, to perform a wide range of repertoires.
Valkenburg
Valkenburg Bandstand
Located right in the centre of town, this bandstand is an old favourite with many of our touring groups. With a regular series of performances and plenty of passing audience members, many bands return time and time again.
Aachen
Give your tour a real international flavour by crossing the border into Germany and visiting the ancient town of Aachen. Regular concerts take place on the charming and characterful market square, which is surrounded by cafes – a perfect location for summer concerts.
Places d’Armes, Luxembourg
To add something rather different to your tour, journey to a third country and perform in Luxembourg. The Place d’Armes in Luxembourg City lies at the very heart of western Europe and offers an excellent bandstand with a ready-made audience from the cafes that clutter the main square.
What to Do
Noordwijk
Amsterdam
Take in the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, or wander through the shops and markets. However, no tour to Amsterdam is complete without a scenic canal cruise.
De Zaanse Schans
In this 17th century settlement near Amsterdam, visit the working windmills, clogmaker’s workshop, tin foundry, bakery and cheese workshop.
Walibi World Theme Park
Whether you are looking for the thrill of the ‘Goliath’ rollercoaster or a more leisurely ride on the Ferris Wheel, a trip to Walibi World is an enjoyable day out for your entire group.
Valkenburg
Efteling

Caves
There is a fascinating world to be found in Valkenburg …or in fact under Valkenburg: the municipal caves, visited by great numbers of people every year. Fossils and layers of shell can be seen in the rock bringing you face to face with the forces of nature, whilst wall paintings and plaques give you a taste of the past
3 Countries Maze
Discover the largest and most exciting maze in Europe - ‘Drielandenpunt Vaals’. It is at the point where the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium meet near the town of Vaals. Reach the middle of the labyrinth, by overcoming the walls of water and crossing the many bridges.
