Day 1 in NYC

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

We departed The Priory at 7am and made our way to Heathrow Airport. We arrived at the airport at 11:30 and boarded the flight at 1:30. Rahul got searched at every security check point and we hadn’t even left England yet. We had 7 hours and 20 minutes of airtime to endure before we arrived in New York.

After this long haul flight we then had to wait another hour and a half just to get through immigration with the expectations of waiting another three hours incase Rahul got searched again. After this we hopped onto the party bus with the blacked out windows and music blaring (an old black painted school bus) for our first taste of New York life.

We arrived  at the hostel at around 20:00 American time however they weren’t quite how we expected. The room was filled with a bunk bed, a locker and a small air conditioning unit. After a few room changes, we quickly unpacked and headed to the local American diner. We indulged in traditional burgers and a variety of different American foods. By this time we were all extremely tired and ready for a good night sleep ready for the busy day ahead.
