The last day of our trip involved a trip to the amazing ruins of Herculaneum. What an experience. The most interesting point of the morning was seeing the skeletal remains of the people who had taken refuge in the boathouses. These had only just been uncovered a few years ago. “Are they real?” Was asked a few times.
The afternoon was spent shopping in Sorrento. Everyone enjoyed the mix of wee shops and a lot of money was spent.
Night time was spent packing and visiting the ice cream parlour one last time. All retire early as we have an early rise in the morning.
