What a great day to start our Geography trip and holiday. The weather was kind and our plan was to complete the Golden Circle.
First stop was the Thingvellir National Park. It was awesome standing inside a gorge that was being ripped apart by the forces of the earth.
Ian, the tour guide said that he had not seen do much snow here since 2011.
Geysir was great fun. It was very busy and there we were standing with all our cameras pointed at Srokkur waiting for the Geysir to explode. Ian was right, you get the best plate of chips in Iceland here!
Finally Gulfoss. Triple wow! Waterfall, spray, icicles, noise, brief rainbow, icy, snow…….
Time to soak in a hot tub.
