Super jeep exhilaration on the black basalt beaches of Southern Iceland with QSI Shenzhen – unbeatable fun!

Heading inland we crossed the out wash plain until we came to the snout (melting end) of Eyjafjallajokull. For any geographer this is literally an awesome place to be. The volcano underlying this glacier caused international disruption in air transport in 2010.
The jeeps carried us onwards to Porsmork (after the god Thor), with it’s stunning scenery. We climbed a vertiginous hill to capture a 360 degree view of the valleys below us.
As we left this beautiful valley behind us, the drivers introduced us to the secret waterfall, Gljufrarbui, it’s it’s narrow opening the most beautiful sight – the view which followed was well worth the drenching!
The perfect end to a wonderful day.
