Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

Today the beauty of the Sicilian climate became apparent; with a cloudless sky allowing Mount Etna to be seen from a far. We started the day by heading to the volcanic giant first by coach, then by cable car and finaly by 4×4 jeep until we the summit of 2950m. Panoramic views of the coastline and towns that we would later visit were admired through the crisp air as we encircled the crater with our guide Nino.

The afternoon was spent in the pretty walled town of Taormina, where the students had time to explore the local shops and grab a much deserved gelato (ice cream). The trip came to an end with a visit to the beaches of Giardini Naxos and a final goodbye was said to the beautiful island.
