1. Skógafoss, Iceland
At 62m-high, Skógafoss’ plummeting sheets of water are certain to leave you speechless. This dramatic shot was taken by John F Kennedy International School, who named the waterfall as their ultimate tour highlight.
2. Western Front, Belgium and France
Huddersfield Grammar brought history to life earlier this year on their tour to the Western Front: “Lifetime memories from centenary visit to understand the sacrifice of so many on the battlefields of the First World War.”
3. Faraglioni, Capri
A boat trip around the famous and fashionable Isle of Capri allowed the The McAuley Catholic High School to take the perfect snap of the fabulous Faraglioni rocky stacks.
4. Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Berlin
This photo captured by Barlby High explores the chilling history of Nazi persecution as they navigated the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.
5. The Alps, Switzerland
The stunning scenery in the Alps is enough to captivate any visitor from the moment they arrive. Ian Ramsey C of E Comprehensive School certainly experienced “the awe and wonder of Switzerland!”
6. Singapore and Malaysia
This summer members of the Geographical Association ISIG’s ventured to Singapore and Malaysia as part of the annual study tour. This photo of a local school captures just one moment of the group experiencing new locations and broadening cultural awareness.
7. Gullfoss, Iceland
With its double cascade, it’s easy to see why Gullfoss is frequently named as Iceland’s most spectacular waterfall. Bootham School’s panoramic picture is a sight to behold!
8. South Coast, Iceland
The Land of Fire and Ice is full of amazing photo opportunities! Simply put by Lochaber High School, “Iceland has inspired yet another generation of young geography students.”
9. Pompeii, Bay of Naples
Morley Academy’s snap of Pompeii perfectly illustrates the impact of the devastating 79 AD Vesuvius eruption, when the town was showered with ash, stones and pumice.
10. Glacier Walk, Iceland
Twynham School experienced ice ridges, crevasses and moulins close-up, donned with crampons and pick-axes, as they embarked on a glacier walk.
