Welcome to Sorrento Meg

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

Hello, my name is Meg and I am the Operations Manager in the Education Department. My job means that I do not have the opportunity to get out of the office and get to see our tours in action as much as I would like – but this week that has all changed! The lovely group from Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village have kindly agreed to let me tag along on their geography trip to Sorrento and the Bay of Naples this week and I am finally able to tick this beautiful destination off my list.

I believe that good trips begin with an early start and this trip is no exception. I was awake bright (ish) and early (very) this morning ready to set off for Heathrow Airport. At last though I was at the airport and meeting the group for our flight to Rome. After navigating our way around Rome Fiumicino airport we were on the (thankfully) air conditioned coach to Sorrento.

Eventually we made it to Sorrento, the journey seemed to take forever but I think that was due to my impatience to get to our destination more than anything else. The sun was shining and sparkling off the sea – it was perfect! We then had a short walk to our accommodation, Bleu Village, because there is no way that a coach was getting up some of the narrow streets around here. Thank goodness though that our luggage was taken care of by the Bleu Village staff in a mini-van.

After settling in and a delicious hearty meal it was time to explore, which we were all eager to do, so off we set for the beach before heading back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep. I cannot wait for tomorrow and the visits we have planned. Watch this space!
