Last updated: Aug 21st, 2019

Warm up those vocal chords, because an exciting new choir competition is on the horizon!

The International Choral Festival Wales is something you’ll be hearing a lot of as it launches its spectacular festival between 30th March – 1st April 2018, celebrating everything that makes the international choral community so special.

As Concert Tour specialists ourselves with a passion for providing choirs with memorable, international performance opportunities, we couldn’t be more proud to partner with this incredible event and support the musical talent behind it!

ICFW is dedicated to promoting artistic excellence, global understanding, friendship and goodwill through choral music.

Eilir Owen Griffiths, Artistic Director

Seeking out the crème de la crème of choirs, the festival is inviting all choirs to apply who think they’ve got what it takes to be crowned the ‘Choir of Choirs’ and win the prestigious Sir Karl Jenkins Trophy and £2,000.

The best choirs in the world will compete at the iconic Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff during the Easter weekend, where the five highest scoring choirs from across all categories will compete in the ultimate sing-off in the Choir of Choirs competition.

Thrown into the mix are some seriously big names. We’re talking Eilir Owen Griffiths, the festival’s Artistic Director, and adjudicators Vaclovas Augustinas, Maria Gamborg Helbekkmo, Paul Mealor and Bernie Sherlock.

Born out of a passion for music, a vision to welcome the best of the choral community to Wales and a desire to push the boundaries of musical excellence, the International Choral Festival Wales promises to be a musical experience to remember. Applications close on 21st October 2017, so apply now!

Look out for more information nearer the time about how you can make your festival experience a European adventure. Why not tour to one of the many beautiful cities in the UK, or choose to travel to Paris, Tuscany, Venice or one of our other exciting European destinations?

“A well-organised, thoroughly thought-through trip tailored to our individual needs.”
