What makes a suitable ski resort for schools?

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

When looking for a suitable ski resort for your school, it’s important you consider a number of factors that could influence your decision on where you and your group want to ski.

To help you seek out those school-friendly resorts, here’s a quick check list of what to look out for when deciding whether a resort is spot-on for your school…

  1. Size
The resort size is important for a number of reasons. If you have a group of beginner skiers, you’ll want a smaller resort which offers natural progressions. However, if your group is mixed, you’ll need a resort with varied ski areas to accommodate everyone’s abilities. Finally, a group of solely experienced skiers will want a larger resort with large ski area – a smaller resort just won’t cut it!
  1. Snow reliability
A ski trip isn’t much fun with no snow! If you’re travelling later in the season, it’s vital that you take into account snow coverage and resort height to make sure that you have enough of the fluffy white stuff once in resort.
  1. Accommodation
You need plenty of rest on a ski trip, so accommodation is important. We pin down a whole host of accommodation options to make sure you get the most of your time away. Want the convenience of piste-side accommodation? Not a problem! Prefer to have sole occupancy in a hotel? We’ve got you covered. You should also consider the facilities you require as well as the type of rooming you need.
  1. Après
It may sound strange, but ski trips aren’t all about skiing – your evenings can also be packed full of fun! Each resort offers a number of exciting and varied après, so whether you want to relax with an evening swim or get your adrenaline rush with a torch-lit evening ski session, there’s something for everyone.
  1. Safety
