Although one of our lesser known resorts, Tarvisio is a perfect destination for school ski groups! With a mixture of great beginner areas to enable quick progression, challenging runs for the more advance, to the variety of après options and a town with enough to explore, it really does tick all the boxes!
Having spent the week away with a school, I saw first-hand just how great the overall experience of Tarvisio is for a school ski trip – I know this may sound silly but a school ski trip is about much more than skiing.
When considering resorts, it’s not always about the quantity of pistes, but the quality of the overall resort – the fact that Tarvisio regularly features on the Ski World Cup circuit surely proves its calibre? Working with local instructors who have grown up and live in resort (some for over 30 years!), means their experience and passion comes across in their delivery of lessons, challenging all abilities. Our beginner groups progressed incredibly fast considering most had never put skis on and the more advanced group had challenges of the world cup run, as well as off piste conditions, that certainly tested their skills!
Not only did we wake up to incredible snow conditions every day, the après activities just added to the overall experience! From the Alpine Coaster, in-house spa facilities, ice skating, sledding and a well-deserved trip across the Austrian border to a thermal spa and fun park, we certainly maximised our time away during our 8 day trip!
It was great to hear the reactions of the students and teachers throughout the week and on the journey home, from discussing any spectacular falls during a lesson to swimming in a heated outdoor pool whilst it was snowing, it was definitely a week away I hope they won’t ever forget!
When we send ski groups away on a trip, we want them to enjoy every last second and with a resort like Tarvisio, you certainly are able to do just that!
