October snowfall to total up to 1m in the Alps

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

A huge snowfall which is currently hitting the Alps is expected to leave up to 1m of snow today. As the 2018/19 ski season starts to draw that little bit closer, we can’t wait!

The snow – caused by warm air which has been lying over the Alps for months, getting hit by a strong Arctic front – is great news for all the resorts which are due to open in the next coming months.

The good news is it’s not just the Alps which has been getting the snow! The Pyrenees are also seeing heavy snow fall this October with Bacqueria Beret posting over 25cm of snowfall in recent days and Andorra also having a heavy snowfall.
