We believe that unforgettable travel experiences should be within reach for every young person. This year, we are proud to be offering eight funded places up to £1000 per place for students to join one of our educational school trips.
This scheme is designed to support students in receipt of the Pupil Premium grant, ensuring more young people can benefit from life-changing experiences. Whether they will be exploring new cultures, building personal growth, or seeing classroom learning come to life, our tours create lasting memories for every student.
This is more than just a trip… it’s an opportunity to grow, connect, dream big and see the world through new eyes. We want all students to feel inspired and take on once in a lifetime experiences.
1. Check eligibility
Check student and trip eligibility (all eligibility and terms and conditions are found below).
2. Enquire about a Funded Place
Talk to your Tour Consultant or Tour Coordinator to see if spaces are available. All that is required is the name of the student alongside your confirmation that the student is in receipt of the Pupil Premium grant.
3. Provide supporting information
Your Tour Consultant or Tour Coordinator will send you a short form to fill out, this will ask for supporting information (this will not affect the application) and your headteacher details to confirm eligibility.
4. Confirm your trip
Once you have booked your trip, the Funded Place Agreement will be sent for the school to sign, on completion of this agreement the Funded Place will be confirmed and the tour price for the eligible student will be reduced by £1000.

Duration
The Funded Places scheme runs from the 1st of September 2026 to 31st of July 2027.
Places
There are 8 Funded Places available, once these places have been confirmed, applications will be closed.
Entitlement
The Funded Place scheme entitles a pupil to a £1000 price reduction on their trip booked with Rayburn Tours. There is no cash value or other entitlement associated with the Funded Place scheme. The total price of the trip for the student named in the application must be equal to or below £1500.
Eligibility
To apply for a funded place, the pupil concerned must attend a school in either England, Scotland or Wales and be in receipt of one of the grants or funds listed below:
- Pupil Premium Grant if the student attends a school in England
- Pupil Development Grant if the student attends a school in Wales
- Pupil Equity Funding if the student attends a school in Scotland
The pupil must be in receipt of the appropriate scheme at the point of application and this must be confirmed in writing by the school leadership team. All funded places are non-transferrable.
Restrictions
- Only one Funded Place can be provided per trip
- A school can apply for a maximum of two Funded Places across different trips between 1st of September 2026 and the 31st of July 2027
Application
Applications can be made at enquiry stage or for any trip booked with Rayburn Tours where the final balance of the trip has not already been paid. Applications can be submitted to the Tour Consultant or Tour Coordinator by the main party leader or trip organiser of the school who will confirm if places remain available. *Applications are for school tours only.
Cancellations
The party leader must inform Rayburn Tours if the student in receipt of the Funded Place is unable to travel.
Where a student withdraws without a genuine and unavoidable reason, cancellation charges may apply where costs have already been incurred and/or the place cannot be offered to another eligible student. Where costs have already been incurred that cannot reasonably be recovered, the School may remain responsible for those costs, particularly where replacement of the funded place is not possible.
