Choir of the Year: Thursday 9th January 2014

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

Time to get the Rayburn Tours team on board! Today we gathered everyone together to launch our partnership with Choir of the Year. My mission – to make sure everyone is as excited about the prospect as I am. We’re in the board room, stunning large pictures of each venue adorning the walls, glorious photos of the judges and presenters, and the big sell ensues!

Mission accomplished – everyone very excited, eager to support us at each event, and really up for being interviewed on film to incorporate into a “Top Tips on Touring” presentation we have agreed to give at each event.

Good start – apart from when I come to start removing the numerous posters from the wall – the blu tac mysteriously starts to remove the paint. Noooooooooooo. Time to sneak “Handy Andy” into the building before anyone notices!

“Our next focus has to be on creating a presentation that captures the unique essence and outcome of embarking on a European concert tour.”

Our next focus has to be on creating a presentation that captures the unique essence and outcome of embarking on a European concert tour; what better way to achieve this than by getting out and speaking to the people who have done just that.

We’ve already got an interview on film with Peter Gould and his young singers at Derby Cathedral Choir, such wonderful feedback from his young choristers.

Next we’ve been put in touch with Debbie Hoult from the Wooburn Singers and she’s asked us to come along to one of their ‘Come and Sing’ events, Dream of Gerontious, to interview her as party leader on their last tour to Estonia, as well as some of the choir members who travelled. Her enthusiasm for her choir and their achievements is really quite contagious. I am sure this will be a great meeting.
