American Jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald, once said “music is the universal language…it brings people closer together” and this has never been so poignant than at a time like this!
As the worldwide pandemic of Coronavirus forces entire countries into lockdown people are searching for ways to stay close to friends and family through the use of technology. Platforms such as Skype, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Cisco’s WebEx are keeping people connected all around the world – and that includes spreading the joy of music.

The Couch Choir perform ‘Close to you’
In just two days, over 1,000 people from 18 different countries around the world submitted a video of them singing The Carpenter’s ‘Close to You’. Every submission that was received was added to the collective…and the result is amazing
Camden Voices perform ‘True Colours’
One of London’s foremost vocal groups took 28 individual videos, submitted from all over the world, combined into one- a truly international collaboration.
Perpetuum Jazzile perform ‘You’re the Voice’
Slovenian choir pulled this epic performance off in just 3 days, all from the comfort of their own homes.
