Where to Stay in Sauze d’Oulx on a School Ski Trip

Last updated: Feb 20th, 2026

Sauze D’Oulx is a stand-out destination for school ski trips, combining excellent skiing with a lively alpine atmosphere and a fantastic choice of accommodation. With several great options available, choosing the right base for your group can feel like the hardest part of planning the trip.

To help you decide, we’ve rounded up our recommended accommodations in Sauze D’Oulx – find out more below!

Étoile des Neiges

Étoile des Neiges is a family-run hotel that consistently delivers a warm welcome and a genuine home-from-home experience – something that can make all the difference on a school ski trip.

With just 34 beds, this cosy, alpine-style accommodation offers a more personal stay, where students are quickly made to feel comfortable and cared for. The owners are known for their exceptional hospitality, always on hand to help if any issues arise and taking the time to get to know groups during their stay.

The food here is another highlight, with hearty meals that are always well received by groups. The hotel also has its own restaurant and can arrange popular pizza nights – this is a great après ski option!

Located around a 500-metre walk from the Jouvenceaux ski lift, Étoile des Neiges is well placed for easy slope access whilst still offering a peaceful base to relax in the evenings.

What I love most about Étoile des Neiges is the hospitality. The team genuinely care about the children, always offering support and reassurance and creating a real home-from-home atmosphere. It’s an invaluable part of the experience.

Hotel des Amis

Hotel des Amis is an excellent option for larger school groups looking for a more communal atmosphere. Also run by a family, this hotel offers alpine-style décor and a friendly, welcoming environment that works particularly well for group travel.

With space for up to 64 guests, Hotel des Amis is well suited to sole occupancy, giving groups the chance to make the space their own. Ensuite rooms provide added comfort, while communal areas – including a ping pong table – give students somewhere to relax and socialise in the evenings.

The Jouvenceaux ski lift is approximately a 9-minute walk away, and whilst the hotel isn’t located directly in the town centre, it’s just a short drive from the Sportinia lift (around five minutes). Coach transport works particularly well here, offering flexibility for getting into town and making the most of Sauze D’Oulx’s lively après-ski options.

The staff [at Hotel des Amis] were amazing, they couldn’t do enough for us. The food was very good as well, rooms were exactly what we needed.
