For almost a year we have been working with the amazing team at Sportcamp Loutraki in Greece to develop quality sports tour experiences for our groups. To say that we are impressed with the setup, the facilities and the staff at Sportcamp would be an understatement and the groups who have visited Sportcamp couldn’t agree more!
Earlier this year, our Events Coordinator Andy Matthews, who has been involved with developing our Sportcamp product from the beginning, had the opportunity to visit again, but this time with a group. He was excited to see Sportcamp from a group’s perspective and although he had no doubts that they would have a fantastic tour, even he was blown away by their overall experience. “We work hard to ensure that Rayburn Sports’ promises are delivered and I knew that the service at Sportcamp would be impeccable and the sporting fixtures would be well-matched, but to see how it all came together to create one amazing, unforgettable experience for this group exceeded my expectations of Greece as a sports tour destination.”
This particular group was made up of football players and netball players. The football matches were, as expected, a great success. Evening fixtures on the floodlit pitches meant that temperatures had dropped sufficiently to make for ideal playing conditions for the 4 matches they played. The Rayburn Tours team go above and beyond to organise the ultimate fixture and one of the highlights for these young footballers was a 3-3 draw against one of the feeder clubs to the Olympiacos Academy.
The netballers also played well in 4 perfectly matched fixtures. “The games I saw were, as usual, played in great spirit and the coaches and teams I met are looking forward to playing against more of our groups in future. We have invested a lot in developing netball with Sportcamp and it was great to see the result of this.”
Aside from the excellent organisation of sporting fixtures, Sportcamp is highly recommended for its on-site leisure activities and enrichment possibilities. “The open-air swimming pool was very popular, as were the beach football, beach volleyball and table-tennis.” For a taste of local culture, Andy also recommends the Greek Dancing lesson: “A trained dance tutor taught our group two traditional Greek dances which the students went on to perform at their fixtures. Great fun!”
