Restored and revived by the magical powers of the Blue Lagoon, the intrepid Sixth Formers from Neston High were quickly on the case. From the malodorous, primordial, bubbling mud of Krysuvik, lying in the high temperature geothermal field, we moved on swiftly to the Raufarholshellir lava tube. This amazing natural tunnel feature extending 1.3 kilometres is punctuated by large holes allowing sunlight to reveal mineral and ice features. To have this magnificent feature to ourselves was a real privilege.
