Experience the Pompeii of the north

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

The day began travelling across the ocean to Heimaey with a low mysterious mist covering the island like a blanket. There were amazing sights of various bird life and the anticipation of the students excitement was evident.

Many activities followed, climbing Eldfell, identifying many geological features along the way. Then great information provided by an electronic guided tour around local museum learning many aspects required for A Level study followed by puffin watching over the breath-taking volcanic cliffs. Finally ending this amazing day at the superb town pool, where staff could rest their aching limbs in blissful hot tubs whilst students performed stunts on the slides!
