Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School – The Ski Bug!

Last updated: Aug 21st, 2019

An amazing view from the chair lifts of the bottom ski area of Tarvisio

Sophie here, touching down with you all again! As I arrived at breakfast ready for our second day of skiing, it was clear that the students had caught the ski bug (I mean, how could you not?).

With everyone eager to get back out onto the slopes and energy levels at an all-time high, we set out to the ski school meeting point and waited for our instructors to join us for the morning.

Once they were off in their lessons, I took some time to myself to explore the mountain and the wonderful runs it has to offer. The snow in Tarvisio is amazing and we couldn’t ask for a better coating of snow! There really is nothing like it.

As morning lessons came to an end, we swapped our skis for our shoes and made our way down to the hotel for what was to be a mammoth lunch. Bellies stuffed with a pasta, main and dessert course, it was safe to say that the students and staff were fully re-fuelled for the afternoon of skiing ahead and the snowball fight to follow.

Tonight, Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School experienced the delicious pizzas of Pizzeria Fruilli after a trip to the supermarket to stock up on essential snacks for the remainder of the week!

The weather and snow is due to only get better from here with lots of snow forecast, so we should be in for an extremely fun week!
