Cirencester Kingshill in Iceland: 23rd – 27th July 2016

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

A saying in Iceland is that if you stand in the same place for 5 minutes, you will experience all 4 seasons!

Maybe not quite in 5 minutes, but this was certainly true of Cirencester Kinghill’s 5 day exploration of Iceland this week. Beautiful sunshine, to wet and wild, though never once did this dampen the enthusiasm of the staff or students.

First stop on arrival was the Bridge over the Continents, which set the scene for the trip – literally standing between continents, the students began to fully appreciate how dynamic the Icelandic landscape really is.

A short coach ride to the atmospheric Blue Lagoon, with the steam rising eerily from the water, it looked like other planet and the students and staff excitedly made their way through the lava to spend a relaxing afternoon in the warm geothermal waters. Always a brilliant way to start a trip to Iceland.
