A warm welcome to Barbados

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

Earlier this month, Rayburn Sports’ team member, Asha, was lucky enough to head out of the office and jet off to sunnier climes on a familiarisation trip to Barbados to discover the very best of what this vibrant Caribbean paradise has to offer sports groups.

The Barbadian rhythm of life

Simply the mention of this dreamy destination evokes visions of relaxation on the stunning white beaches, with the turquoise waters lapping at the shore… but as this was a work trip, we’ve been assured that Asha’s time on the coral isle was not in keeping with the laid-back Barbadian rhythm of life.

Instead of kicking back and enjoying some rest and relaxation, Asha’s days were filled with supplier meetings, hotel visits and trips to sporting facilities and venues. This was all to ensure that we are offering the very best of what’s available to Rayburn Sports groups who embark on a long-haul adventure to this warm and welcoming country.

Not all work and no play

It was not all work and no play though, as Asha tried her hand at some of the exciting excursions we offer groups so that the itineraries created for you include the perfect balance of sports, relaxation and culture.

A visit to Kensington Oval and the Cricket Legends of Barbados Museum was the perfect way to spend the first day on the island, especially as cricket is the national sport of Barbados!

Island excursions

Other excursions included an island jeep safari tour, in which she circled the entire island in 3-4 hours stopping off at the most famous attractions and viewpoints to witness the breath-taking views from different areas of Barbados.

Understandably, there were too many highlights to mention them all, but Asha particularly enjoyed visiting typical Bajan sporting venues, where our groups will play cricket, hockey or netball. Not to mention the breath-taking views and beaches!

Barbados is an island that has it all. With unbelievable beaches, bright blue bays, endless sunshine, plus a whole host of sporting fixtures and excursions, a visit to this laid-back, cricket-made island will guarantee you have a Sports Tour to remember!
