Rayburn’s Fantasy Football Tips!

Last updated: Jan 30th, 2019

The international break is over and after a long 13 days of no Premier League football, fantasy football players are rejoicing in the fact that it’s back this weekend!

If you’re looking for stats to help pick your team this week, then this BBC Sport article is a must read. However, if you’re willing to take a gamble, we’ve asked some of the Rayburn Sports Team for their top picks. Take their advice (with heed) below:

Dan’s Top Pick:

Marcos Alonso, Chelsea
Maurizio Sarri has got Alonso playing in an even more attacking wing back position than last season and with Chelsea hosting Cardiff this weekend, surely a clean sheet (plus some cheeky assists) is on the cards?

Mike’s Top Pick:

Joao Moutinho, Wolves
Portugal international Moutinho has been almost ever-present in the league since his £5 million summer switch from Monaco. His star showing in the 1-0 victory over West Ham is surely the perfect platform for him to continue his impressive form against Burnley this weekend.

Asha’s Top Pick:

Eden Hazard, Chelsea
Hazard has continued his impressive World Cup form with a stunning start to the season and is one of the guaranteed starters in Sarri’s new look Chelsea. Cardiff have suffered a mixed start on their return to the Premier League and will surely not look forward to facing an in-form Hazard.

Gemma’s Pick:

Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur
Some are claiming Harry Kane is struggling with World Cup fatigue, but after being rested in the midweek England friendly against Switzerland, he will surely be firing on all cylinders against Liverpool this weekend. What better way to prove the doubters wrong than by firing in a few goals in the early kick off this Saturday?

Sean’s Pick:

Sergio Agüero, Manchester City
He’s described his fitness as “the best it has been in years” and with Manchester City hosting Fulham at home there will surely be gaps at the back for Agüero to pounce. If you have Agüero in your team, Sean reckons you should be captaining him this weekend!
