Yes they are fun, but they have been designed to develop, engage and challenge young people. Read on to learn more about each of the activities and the skills they develop…

Confidence

Demonstrate self-confidence in themselves and show trust and support for others.

Resilience

Be able to demonstrate resilience through exposure to failures and overcoming difficult challenges.

Life skills

Achieve goals, adapt positively to change and see setbacks as opportunities to learn.

3G Swing

This high adrenaline activity encourages individuals to set their own goals and challenge their limits, whilst building trust with their teammates. The group work together to hoist one participant in a harness up in the air on our 3G swing, as high or low as they like. When they are ready, the participants will pull the ripcord to release themselves and feel the G-force as they swing back and forth. This is an exhilarating challenge by choice activity.

Abseiling

In this challenge by choice activity, participants climb the stairs to the top of our abseiling tower. One by one, participants are helped into a harness by our instructors and when they are ready they slowly step back over the edge and climb down the tower. Instructors carefully support and guide each child to navigate their way slowly down the wall to the rapturous applause of their mates, bringing a great sense of achievement.

Zipwire

Participants gather their confidence, determination and adrenaline to step off the platform and go flying down our zipwires. Children will experience the perception of taking risks, but in a controlled environment with helmets, harnesses and fully qualified Instructors. An exhilarating ride for the participant, this activity also fosters group spirit and bonding, as pupils cheer each other to overcome their nerves and go whizzing down the wire.

Leap of faith

One of our most challenging High Ropes elements. Pupils muster all their confidence and courage to climb to the top of a 10 metre pole, before counting to three and putting their faith in themselves as they jump and reach to catch the mid-air suspended trapeze. A great activity for our challenge by choice ethos, where young people can safely take risks and learn from them – pupils are gently encouraged and supported by our qualified Instructors to push their own boundaries as far as they wish, whether that is only a few steps up the pole, half way or all the way to the top and then the leap.

Climbing

The purpose-built indoor and outdoor climbing walls provide the ideal opportunity to develop co-ordination, stamina and determination, whilst learning basic climbing skills and techniques.
