Now more than ever, it is increasingly important that children know how to stay safe when spending time on the internet. Founded in 2004, Safer Internet Day operates to make the internet a great and safe place for children and young people.
Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February of each year, with supporters in each of the participating countries coming together to plan and organise events. In the UK, Safer Internet Day is supported by the UK Safer Internet Centre, which operates year-round in support of children and young people.
The theme for this year is “Together for a better internet” and the day will call upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, especially children and young people.
You can read more about Safer Internet Day on both the official site and on your countries support site.
