Last updated: Nov 15th, 2024

We are always looking to expand our portfolio with amazing opportunities for young athletes to start their rugby journey. From the UK and beyond there are unlimited destinations to suit all sport types. However, there is one location that’s just across the waters, has a HUGE sporting culture and offers opportunities that will last a lifetime!

Ireland is the new ultimate school rugby tour, where your group will be staying in the vibrant capital-Dublin! This fantastic experience can kick start young players sporting careers, develop their skills to the MAX and allow them to experience local fixtures against some of the most passionate young players in the world.

Rising To The Top

With rugby continuing to play a role as a national identity for Ireland, this tour is not one to miss. The Aviva stadium in Dublin, known as “the stadium of greatness”, has shaped the national rugby team’s reputation to becoming the “greatest”. 2023 was a catalyst for their journey!

For the first time in history Ireland made it to the quarterfinals in the Rugby World Cup, won the Grand Slam in the Six Nations without a single defeat, and won the Triple Crown by beating all 3 home nations- England, Scotland and Wales.
As a team, Ireland has done extremely well, but one of Irelands players has become a legend. During his 14-year career competing in the Six Nations, the world also saw Ireland’s captain Johnny Sexton become the highest point scorer in Six Nations history. An accolade for both him and the team.

Now it’s your teams turn to feel like a champion. Train like the national team at their home centre, Sport Ireland Campus, where we can arrange a pitch hire for you to run a once in a lifetime session! As part of a rugby tour, we arrange local fixtures to allow young players to experience friendly games that match your team’s ability level. Get ready for some competitiveness though, as these are some of the most passionate players, as Ireland boasts its rich heritage for rugby making fixtures next level fun!

This isn’t just a normal football game; this is a mix between both football and rugby where players can use both their hands and feet to move the ball. Gaelic football is still played today with an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship which attracts large crowds ready for an exciting game!

Hurling

One of the oldest sports in Ireland, hurling is a mix of hockey, football and tennis. Consisting of skill and speed, Ireland likes to showcase the talent with the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.

Handball

Imagine playing squash, but with no bat? That’s exactly what Irish handball is all about! The aim is to keep hitting the front wall, and if the ball bounces twice before you or the opponent returns it, points will be rewarded. The nation has continued this sport with competitions taking place across the country organised by the GAA (Gaelic Athletic association).
