History Tour Guides
Bringing history tours to life
Whilst all our history trips are designed to work successfully as independently-led tours, we can’t recommend a History Tour Guide highly enough. We’ve handpicked a team of guides experienced in leading school groups, meaning we have a historical specialist perfect for your group and chosen destination.
What should you expect from a History Tour Guide?
- Extensive knowledge of your destination, sites and period of history
- Logistical assistance to ensure the smooth running of your carefully planned, bespoke itinerary
- Lots of real-life accounts, anecdotes, poems, facts and figures to keep your students gripped from start to finish
But with us, you’ll get so much more than just a tour guide…
Their guided tour is tailored to your students’ educational needs
We’re all about the bespoke service – and this doesn’t stop when it comes to our tour guides. Your guide will be in touch before your trip to introduce themself and find out more about the educational and social needs of your students.
They’ve done their research on your group
Wherever they can, they’ll tailor the tour to make it personal for your group. Nothing resonates with a student quite like a standing before the grave of a 15-year-old boy, or a soldier who left their local area and never returned.
What’s more, if one of your students lost a family member in one of the conflicts, they’ll endeavour to find their resting place or their name in the memorial book. They can even lead a wreath laying ceremony to pay respects to the late family member – a truly unforgettable moment for the whole group.
They can be flexible with your itinerary
If the opportunity arises, they may make an impromptu stop to elaborate on some points made at a previous visit or to help answer a student’s question. We can’t promise, but they know these areas like the backs of their hands, and if a slight addition to your itinerary can enhance the tour, they’ll try to make it happen!
They’ll call on their contacts
Our guides do a lot of travelling, making some very useful friends along the way. They’ll work their magic to ensure you get the most at every site, often calling on their friends and contacts to add that little extra something.
Just think of them as an extension of your teaching team – the on-site specialist!
What our customers say
Mrs Stewart, St John’s RC High School, Berlin
The guide was really informative and he tailored the tour to the young people in front of him, adding in other things to look at as we moved around Berlin.
Mr Hillman, Southfields Academy, Belgium
Our guide was by far the best I’ve seen. He did an excellent job of communicating his passion for the subject and responded to the needs and wants of the students.
