Earlier this month, two of the Education team’s newest members, Laura and Vanessa, packed their suitcases and swapped the Rayburn office for the Western Front to take part in Discovery Tour 2017.
The trip involved a weekend of visits to a selection of key sites to discover more about the area, all to ensure we offer you the very best experiences on your History Trip to Ypres and the Somme.
From laying a wreath at the moving Last Post ceremony to viewing the vast Lochnagar Mine Crater, the pair experienced elements of a battlefield visit first-hand, bringing home the reality of conflict as they journeyed through a landscape dotted with cemeteries and memorials.
