Last Post Ceremony Honour for Stockport Schools Brass Band

Last updated: Apr 15th, 2019

This summer saw Stockport Schools Brass Band return from a hugely successful tour of Belgium and Ypres, culminating with a stirring performance at the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.

The band, encompassing 30 members from the organisation’s senior and intermediate bands, visited the In Flanders Fields Museum and Tyne Cot Military Cemetery on their travels, providing some valuable history and context for their performance at Menin Gate.

Band Administrator, Alice Bell, said:”This was a wonderful tour for all involved. The band members made such memories that will stay with them for a long time. The support from Lidija at Rayburn Tours made my job easy and everything ran very efficiently. ”

With temperatures reaching over 30C, the band did well to entertain the gathering crowds in Belgium and Ypres in the scorching sun, receiving huge praise for their performances.

We are delighted to hear that plans are already being made for the next tour in 2020!
