Atomium, Brussels

Atomium, Brussels

Constructed in the shape of a magnified iron crystal cell, this curious museum is one of Brussel’s most iconic landmarks.

Once the main pavilion of the World Fair of Brussels in 1958 (Expo 58), today it’s a futuristic museum and exhibition centre, as well as a unique creation in the history of architecture. Comparing our utopias of yesterday with our dreams for tomorrow, the Atomium will immerse you into the ideas of the future and universality.

Five out of its nine spheres are accessible and contain exhibitions dedicated to architecture and design and provide stunning panoramic views of the city – especially if you choose to visit in the evening when the spheres are lit by thousands of LED lights! Explore its unique mix of permanent and temporary exhibitions and discover how the Atomium grew from a symbol to the icon of Brussels.
