Week 2: More Top Rated Ski Destinations

Sestriere
Sestriere is classic choice for a school ski trip and is a favourite among teachers for good reason. As one of Europe’s first purpose-built ski resorts, it boasts a dramatic alpine backdrop, excellent ski schools and world-cup facilities. It’s also part of the renowned Milky Way ski area, with over 400km of interconnected slopes for students to explore.
With high-altitudes, reliable snow conditions and extensive range of beginner and intermediate runs, Sestirere is a great option for mixed ability groups, and offers a premier ski experience.

Bormio
Bormio is another top-rated ski resort in Italy, known for its World Cup racing heritage and most recently, a venue for the 2026 Winter Olympics. So, if you’re looking for high-quality slopes and excellent infrastructure, then Bormio is well worth considering.
The resort has more than 50km of well-maintained terrain that’s well suited to beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders alike.
Off the slopes, Bormio provides students with the option to explore the historic medieval spa town, and enjoy a range of après ski activities, such as ice skating, a trip to the thermal spa and more.

Santa Caterina
Santa Caterina is also a great option for schools who are looking for a school ski tip during the second week of the February 2028 half-term holidays. The smaller and compact resort offers 35km and caters for all abilities, creating a welcoming and safe environment for school groups.
The wide-open slopes are ideal for students who are in the early stages of learning how to ski or snowboard.
For evening entertainment, it’s just a short bus ride into Bormio. This means your group can enjoy the best of both worlds: a quieter, less crowded resort during the day and the livelier atmosphere with a wide range of activities that Bormio has to offer in the evening!
