Field Study Tutors

Your geographical expert in the field

Our geography school trips are made to work as independently-led tours, but if you’re after a team member who has expert local geographic know-how, then our Field Study Tutors (FSTs) are just the people.

Who opted for a Field Study Tutor on their 2022 Geography Tour rated them 5 out of 5.

Our Field Study Tutors are seasoned geography tourers and teachers. Because of that, they are a great support for you in your students’ field studies. Also, your FST brings in-depth knowledge of your chosen destination.

What’s more, this allows them to introduce your group to local cultures and customs along the way. And it doesn’t end there as they a part of the Rayburn team. So, they will have your itinerary to hand and will help with logistics on tour to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Ian Geddes – one of our Field Study Tutors, teaching on the landscapes of Morocco.

Cath Rule – our Iceland Geography expert, helping students learn in Iceland.

“Val was wonderful, and I cannot praise her highly enough or thank her enough, she was so knowledgeable about Iceland and the geographical/geological theory and fascinating to learn from. She had lots of tips and hints about where to go and what to do on all our visits and whilst some staff members had been before, we now have some of the best group photos because Val guided us. We were all constantly learning and absorbing her enthusiasm.”
