school language trips to
The Rhineland, Germany

Where breathtaking scenery steeped in legendary folklore meets traditional German towns and cities, the rural beauty of the Rhineland offers that authentic German experience and then some.

The rolling green hills surrounding the banks of the mighty River Rhine are adorned with enchanting castles and palaces – making it feel like something out of a fairy tale – whilst the cobbled streets and traditional architecture in Cologne and Koblenz give a taste of ‘real Germany’.

The friendly locals will welcome you with open arms, however, with little English spoken throughout the region, your German will be put to the ultimate test. Home to some of the best Christmas Markets around, why not give your school language trip to the Rhineland a festive feel and travel in December?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are seatbelts provided on foreign coaches?

This depends on the country where you are visiting and their local laws. However, we will always endeavour to use coach companies who use coaches fitted with seatbelts.

  • Are all of your coaches audited?

UK coaches: Yes, all of our UK coach companies are audited by our in-house team. Copies of which can be made available to you.

Foreign coaches: It is important to remember that each country is governed by their own standards and laws and these may differ from UK law. We request that an audit is completed by the foreign coach company which includes confirmation of the following: they will comply with all national, local and other laws, rules and codes of practice, and that all services contracted shall be performed with all due skill, care and diligence The vehicle is fully insured for the duration of the tour.

  • Do you provide risk assessments for hotels?

Rayburn Tours have individual audits which are completed on every hotel/accommodation centre which we use. We are more than happy for you to see this should you wish. Our audits cover fire safety, means of escape and general safety.

  • What are you responsible for?

The DfE’s guidance for safe travel highlights the need for all those involved with the organisation and running of a tour to work together as a team. This is our aim at Rayburn Tours, to work together with our party leaders to ensure our groups' safety and peace of mind.
