School History Trips to Liverpool – WWII
Discover the Blitz in Liverpool and the spirit of the people
Targeted by the Germans because of its major shipping port, Liverpool was badly hit in the Blitz. But despite the frequent bombing raids, the city had become a lifeline to Britain, serving as the main point of entry for imported goods and the strategic hub for the Battle of the Atlantic.
With a school history trip to Liverpool, you’ll explore the spirit of the people, the hardship they faced and the crucial role of the city during the Second World War. From the Liverpool War Museum and the Merseyside Maritime Museum to the city’s cultural hotspots, there’s lots to fill your itinerary with.
