The SSE Women’s FA Cup Final

Last updated: May 3rd, 2019

It’s been predicted that the record attendance for a Women’s FA Cup final will be broken this weekend, when West Ham meet Manchester City on Saturday.

As of today, over 52,000 tickets have been sold and distributed, and sources are saying that sales are continuing to be strong. Whilst it was disappointing that the Premier League refused West Ham’s request to bring their men’s game forward, a dead rubber against Southampton, it’s been reported that some West Ham fans will leave the match at half time in order to make the 5.30pm kick off at Wembley. It’s also refreshing to see that Manchester City are providing free coach travel for fans, due to a limited train service running that day.

With the popularity of women’s football rising year on year, we’re delighted to see that this is now being seen in the stands. Good luck to both Manchester City and West Ham, bring on the Final!
